Can we define passion? Well the dicationary says it is ""Pervading spirit, ruling passion, master passion, fullness of heart, flow of soul." Why is it vital to feel passion personally and professionally for what you are doing? One thing to think about- if you have passion, you will be are motivated. If you're motivated, then guess what- you are passionate! Let me ask you- have you ever met an employee who was special and was passionate about his or her work? It's like a breath of fresh air. Let me give you an example: The first time I walked into the meeting room, at a hotel in Philadelphia, Kevin Brown was setting up tables for my meeting. He came over with a big smile and said, " I am Kevin Brown, and I would like to welcome you to our home- I want to make sure you feel at home when you are here, and if you need anything give me a call. I am employee of the year and I will exceed your expectations, because when you care, it shows." Now think about this- Kevin Brown is an employee of the hotel and sets up the tables for meetings and banquets. Mark my words- I have never have a meeting in Philadelphia at any other hotel. Kevin Brown is passionate about his work. I always ask when I enter the hotel "Is Kevin on duty tonight?" His amazing passion for his work is of great value to the hotel, customers and him. How about you?

How about you? If you deal with someone who is negative and nasty, doesn't it make a horrible impression? Sure it does. Think about the opposite; what happens when you get someone in a business, store or restuarant, who has passion, who is amazing and has energy? You love it. Passion will give you an edge in many ways: 1) You will be cranked up and ready to roll 2) Lets face it fun is important and you will have more fun than others who dont have passion. 3) You can help someone else be more motivated 4) You will get more done in less time 5) Passionate people are generally more successful overall. People who are passionate have more energy, enthusiasm, and charisma. It is like a high powered jolt of electricity. A person who is passionate loves what they are doing so much, that they eat, drink and sleep it. So you are now saying to yourself, "Yeah right, but what if I am not like that? What if I am not filled with that kind of passion? What if I never feel that kind of passion?" You may also be saying, "This guy is crazy, and the passion thing is for the birds." I woule like to make a very strong suggestion here which may shock you. May a be a liitle forward with you? You haven't found it. Nope. What? You havent still found what you are passionate about. Life is very fleeting short and if you dont have a passion for what you do now then you got to change it now. Plese stop whining and complaining and decide and take action now! Do you want to get more done than anyone and be like the energizer bunny? If you feel positive, proud, energized, upbeat, passionate, in everthing you do- you will be motivated, and will get more done. See most people arent that way. I got on an elevator one day and say "hello everybody!" Boy the looks I got. "How dare this crazy person speak on an elevator in a positive and energetic tone? Hmmm. Hello world wake up to the possibility of passion. About the Author: One of the leading experts on motivation Shawn Doyle is a Motivational Speaker He is the author of 10 books.
